Summer conjures images of sand-washed beaches, flip flops on sidewalks, and crisp white tees—and usually ushers in a bevy of trends.

This summer, however, trends…well, they aren’t really trending.

While trends still exist—light blue and the ubiquitous flip flop are certainly having a moment—we’re relying on them less.
‍
Instead, as we head into the sunnier months, it’s time to embrace a more laid-back, yet still defined, personal style.
‍
The uniform—jeans, a tee, a blazer, and a structured shoe—can loosen its belt and exhale. It is summer, after all, and this season we’re embracing a new casual.

Swap your usual denim for a cropped ankle—a cuffed Levi’s 501 ’90s Ankle is my current go-to—or a relaxed Bermuda short.

The crisp white tee is a staple that always endures—it practically screams summer.
