The Name on Everyone’s Lips…
Is Chanel the new Cabbage Patch? It seems so.
As lines wound down streets and people waited for hours to purchase Matthieu’s new collection, Chanel was the hot ticket—the name on everyone’s lips, and the question everyone’s asking: will Blazy be able to breathe new life into luxury fashion?
The answer seems to be a resounding yes.
Chanel, astutely, dropped Blazy’s spring collection in Paris during fashion week—celebrities, influencers, and those in the fashion-know lined up, credit cards out, eager to sample a piece of Blazy’s candy. No small accomplishment in light of current economic trends and rising luxury prices.
A pair of crocodile-embossed calfskin high-vamp pumps—top on my wish list—will set you back a cool 1,450… that is, if you can still find your size. The 2.55 handbag? 13,800.
Care to pin a camellia on your coat? 2,625 for the silk pongee brooch—brooches a staple on this season’s red carpet. A silk jacquard scrunchie at 425? Positively a steal. The silk twill slim bandeau scarf in black, burgundy, white, and beige? 400.
Chanel reigned strong at the Oscars—think Jesse Buckley, Nicole Kidman, and Teyana Taylor. Buckley—a bright wash of pink and red. Kidman—soft blush feathers, flaring gently into a peplum waist. Taylor—a fitted bodice culminating in a train of black-and-white fringe.
But the real moment? The Vanity Fair After Party.
Buckley—back to black in a textured V-neck gown, easy and undone.
Kidman—shimmering in a gold column, liquid and precise.
Taylor—resplendent in silk white, draped and quietly commanding.
Fresh from the Paris runway, it’s been a good month for Blazy.
And that slim bandeau scarf?
At 400 dollars, she’s calling my name…
Chanel may be the new Cabbage Patch.
But Blazy’s roots? They’ve just started to grow.
