Terry Not
Summer’s Last Song
On my radar: fall. I sat down with every intention to write about fall uniforms: all things dipped in chocolate brown, buttery suedes, slouchy denim, structured flats. And instead? Instead, I’m still suspended in the magic that is summer—and I don’t want to give it up just yet.
Sun-drenched poplins and raffias are calling my name. Pause and I know their siren song will be lost in fall’s first breath, my summer song vanishing in the breeze. But while it’s still here? I’m holding on with both hands.
I’m finding joy in terry—repurposed bucket hats and terry-towel jackets from LilyEve, specifically. I can’t stop scrolling through their line. Each hat? Better than the next. I’m brainstorming ways I can wear them well through the fall. Maybe a strap at the brim so the hat can hang down the back of a cashmere turtleneck like a backward necklace… I can see it clearly.
And that hat? She’s inspired an entire look—AYR’s Tate poplin, a green taffeta short, cobalt-blue flip-flops.
Don’t even get me started on the jackets…
Terry not, for fall is nigh.
