On Board with Beige
Bronze bottoms. Suddenly, they’re very of the moment. Frankly, I’ve always been on board with beige, dating back to my interior design days. Beige and white? My favorite pairing. Just ask my three boys who grew up in a white house. And, no, not the one on Pennsylvania Avenue.
I’ll never forget a friend coming over, looking at my family room, and asking where my kids sat. Puzzled, I pointed to the sofa and the armchairs.
No, she clarified. She meant that everything was white, so where could they actually sit without getting things dirty? But my kids were used to growing up in an ivory-and-beige house. My future daughters-in-law have me to thank for their neat husbands. You’re welcome.
So, beige? It’s always been my friend. And khaki denim? That’s my kind of colorless color. Count me in. Still Here’s Sport Jean in Pear has been on my wish list for over a year and is, luckily, now restocked. Paired with a black cashmere tank, a simple gold cuff, and leather flip-flops? Chef’s kiss.
My newest obsession? Made Some’s Board Pants in Khaki and White. It honestly took me a minute or two to get on board. Too sporty? Too casual? Too red, too dotty, too blue, too spotty… but in the end, they’ve grown on me, and I kind of love them. Call me influenced by Liv Perez and Who What Wear. After seeing Liv style them with a gray cashmere cardigan and tank, I can’t get them out of my mind. And Still Here? Well, maybe not for much longer. Made Some may just steal the title of my favorite beige pants.
And as we move from summer to fall, Chan Luu’s bronze taffeta shorts are an easy transition piece. Paired with Renggli’s black crewneck sweater—so good. I already own the Flat White, and black is next on my list. Add Toteme’s croc-effect flip-flops and Sophie Buhai’s Teardrop bag? Divine.
Beige?
