I Wanna be a Cowboy
Well, maybe not a cowboy per se, but I’ve been obsessed with all things equestrian since I was a little girl. Horseback riding lessons? I’m manifesting them this year.
And autumn? It’s the perfect time to fall into western style. Right now, I’m loving Guest in Residence. Western with a healthy side of chic. Would you expect anything less from Gigi Hadid? She’s offering all things sumptuous cashmere, and at CBC, we’re riding hard for it.
The most difficult decision? Which jacket is joining the paddock first. I have my money on the Tartan Industry Jacket. The green version? A showstopper. Pair her with a crisp white poplin or layer with more cashmere. It’s fall, after all—layers are always the answer.
Also joining my rotation? Suede cowboy boots—Nili Lotan introduced the most beautifully crafted Towns Boot Tawny. Medallion belts à la Chloé. And a feed-bag-cum-handbag courtesy of Atorie (I’m head over hooves).
For those who prefer a more subdued stable, add equestrian details through your accessories. Gucci weaves the horsebit motif throughout their knitwear, shoes, and handbags. A simple piece of western-inspired jewelry is another way to move from summer to stable.
And Petite Plume’s equestrian-inspired mulberry silk prints? A horse of a different color. Indoor wear that can be worn as outerwear. My favorite, always. Don’t get me started on the beauty of a slipper…
This year, fall into equestrian style—even if you don’t want to be a cowboy.
But really, who doesn’t? Yeehaw.
